Planning For Burial Shares "A Flowing Field of Greed" – First Track from It’s Closeness, It’s Easy

Planning For Burial has released “A Flowing Field of Green,” the first track from the upcoming album It’s Closeness, It’s Easy, out May 30 via The Flenser. Lyrically introspective and sonically immersive, the song sets the tone for the record’s deeply personal themes of time, place, and self-reflection.

Searching for Something Better

Thom Wasluck, the man behind Planning For Burial, describes the song’s inspiration:

"When I first wrote it I was thinking about how often on tour or when visiting other cities I’d want to move there, away from everything I know. But I’ve been to a lot of places and lived in a few too and realized everywhere will suck if you let it. You gotta be the change you wanna see, you gotta make the things you want to happen become a reality no matter where you’re at."

These feelings of restlessness and longing permeate “A Flowing Field of Green”, capturing a sense of detachment from the past and an uncertainty about the future. There’s an ache in the track, but also a quiet resolve—a realization that external change is meaningless without internal transformation.

Lyrics: "A Flowing Field of Green"

It’s not easy
Whole lives lived
That I can’t remember

Where has everyone gone?
I’m just as much to blame
Getting faded
Letting you fade
Always a mess
Even when I’m not
Not as disciplined as my father was

You think
It’s so easy
