Mechanical Grandma is an experimental industrial noise band from Berkeley, CA consisting of Connie Sewer and Viktor DeKay. They entered the scene in 2022 with their debut album Baby Bomber. Their sophomore effort, Skeptic Tank, furthers the weirdness, exploring themes of existential dread, apathy under capitalism, feminine rage, and the terrors and comforts of old age as a current youth. The album ranges from unrelenting abrasion to hauntingly soft a cappella, clawing and yearning for something beyond its embarrassing existence.
