'1000 Hurts' was the third album by professional grump Steve Albini and his Shellac comrades. The album did nothing to dispel the notion that the band are very clever, hard rocking nerds. Contains the usual slash and burn guitars, math-rock arrangements and in jokes that will delight their cult following. Shellac never compromise, they don't need to, and '1000 Hurts' is another album of them not compromising to good effect.
