Oklahoma’s Chat Pile have had an exciting year; they released their album God’s Country, toured the midwest and east coast in support of the album, announced their appearance at Roadburn Festival 2023, and while the band is working on LP2, they're revealing details for their score for the indie film Tenkiller.
While not a proper full-length album, the Tenkiller score was written and recorded in the winter of 2020, and it waxes and wanes from the signature Chat Pile sound but also ventures into new ones— including arena country music. Check out the band’s two favorite cuts from the score on all music streaming services today - “Tenkiller” and “Lake Time (Mr. Rodan)," which are also available as a limited-to-500 edition 90s style cassingle that you can order on our Bandcamp page or directly through the Flenser. This is a one time pressing of the cassette and affordably priced.
The band comments, “The music we made for Tenkiller is quite a bit different than what you may come to expect from us. We were given the freedom to really experiment and explore territories that we’ve never done before.” They continue, “It’s not going to be for everyone, but we hope some of you connect with what we set out to do.”
The Tenkiller score will be released digitally in full for Bandcamp Friday (exclusive) on November 18th. The two singles, "Tenkiller" and "Lake Time (Mr. Rodan)" will be available as a limited-to-500 edition cassette single (pre-order). The score will also be available on limited edition vinyl in 2023 from The Flenser and will be included in Series Five Memberships.
About Tenkiller: One year after the tragic death of his best friend, an eighteen-year-old machinist struggles with the split of his parents and the violent way of life surrounding him.
